Gargilius Martialis, élt a 3. században Kr. e., írt Alexander Severus császár életéről és egy nagyobb munkát a mezei gazdaságról. Ez utóbbiból nehány jelentékeny rész maradt reánk, nevezetesen a gyümölcstermelésről (de pomis) és a marhatenyésztésről (de cura boum), melyeket Rose (1875) adott ki. N. G.
