makaó – ‘hazárd kártyajáték’.
Az egykori dél-kínai portugál gyarmat, Macao (portugál Macau) nevéről, e város ugyanis kártyabarlangjairól volt híres. A név forrása a kínai Ama Kao (‘az isteni anya szentélye’).
