Hofsteter János Kristóf, selmeczbányai származású orvostudor, külföldön nyerte nevelését, iskoláit Brigában és Görlizben, az egyetemet Lipcsében és Hallében végezte, hol 1695-ben orvosi oklevelet nyert.
