Keresztessy József
Keresztessy József (Bp., 1819. aug. 7. – Bp., 1895. ápr. 16.): vívó, a magyar kardvívóiskola megalapítója. Az 1825-ben megalakult Pesti Nemzeti Vívóintézetben Friedrich Ferenc mester segédeként szerepelt. Egy új, az ún. magyar vívórendszert vezette be. Az erős, nyitott kvartállás híve volt. Ezt a tőrvívásnál kialakult rendszert honosította meg a kardvívásban is.
