bojár – ‘orosz vagy román földbirtokos nemes’. Régen boér, bojér alakban.
Szláv szó: bolgár boljarin, orosz bojarin, s ezek nyomán román boiariu. Mai nyelvünk ~ szava a német Bojar átvétele.
