Csokonya, magyar mváros, Somogy vgyében, ut. p. Babolcsa. Róna határa igen nagy de homokos; marha- és sertéstenyésztése nevezetes. Lakja 1200 ref. 300 kath., ref. és k. paroch. templomokkal. A város feje gr. Széchenyi Lajos egyik uradalmának.
