Parthenium, Παρϑενιον. – 1. Számos városnak neve, így Arcadiában (Plin. 4, 6, 10), Euboeában (Steph. Byz. 528), Mysiában Pergamumtól Délkeletre Apollonia felé. Xen. an. 7, 8, 15. 21. Plin. 5, 30, 33. – 2. Hegység Argolis és Arcadia határán; Parthenius néven is előfordul; mai neve Roinosz. Közelében mutogatták Pan isten szenthelyét, ki kevéssel a marathoni ütközet előtt megjelent az athenaeiek hiradójának Phidippidesnek. Hdt. 6, 105. Paus. 1, 28, 4. V. ö. Leake, Morea 2, 329. K. J.
