Pomptinus, Cajus, 63-ban, Cicero consulsága alatt praetor, 62–59-ben Gallia Narbonensis propraetora volt (Sall. Cat. 45. Cic. Cat. 3, 2. Cic. prov. cons. 13), mint ilyen az allobroxokkal is harczolt s 54-ben diadalmenetet is tartott. Dio Cass. 37, 47. Liv. ep .103. Cic. Att. 4, 18, 4. Cicerónak Kr. e. 51-ben Ciliciában legatusa volt.
