1332-ben de Sancto Andrea, 1380-ban Zenthandreas, 1441-ben Zenthanderias, Zenthandrás, 1587-ben Zentt András néven jelentkezik az oklevelekben. (Györffy: Az Árpád-kori. III. 299.; C. Suciu: Dicţionar istoric.)
1332-ben plébániatemploma van, papja, Imre a pápai tizedjegyzék szerint 50 dénárt fizet. (Györffy: i.h., Documente. XIV. C., III. 129.; Budai: A hunyadi főesperesség. 29.)
Úgy látszik, katolikus lakossága templomostól még a reformáció előtt elpusztul, mert később semmi adat nincs Szentandrás templomáról.
